Areal takes its name from the whole beach, not a grain or a handful, but the entire stretch of sand reaching down to the water. It is the largest piece in the collection and the one that closes it, the broad, round body resting on a low foot, full of presence. Modelled in black stoneware, the dark surface is covered with large pale patches, sand that spreads and gathers, like the shore that extends endlessly when the tide draws back.

This work is born from the observation of the silent time inscribed in matter, a contemplative presence between sculpture and everyday ritual, the result of an intuitive process of hand modelling.

A unique piece, it will not be reproduced.
