bruma
bruma
Bruma takes its name from the mist that comes off the sea, the kind that clings to the rocks in the early morning and leaves them dark and damp. The form rises from a smooth base to a broad, rough shoulder, drawing inward to a small neck. Modelled in black stoneware, the surface divides between smooth and rough, textured like stone worn by the tide, where the pale grain peers through the dark like dried salt on rock.
This work is born from the observation of the silent time inscribed in matter, a contemplative presence between sculpture and everyday ritual, the result of an intuitive process of hand modelling.
A unique piece, it will not be reproduced.
